Positively Aware magazine

TPAN’s magazine, POSITIVELY AWARE has been among the most trusted sources of HIV treatment and advocacy news. It is a national voice for amplifying the concerns and resource needs for people living with HIV across the U.S. We provide accurate, up-to-date treatment information for people living with HIV/AIDS and their caregivers. Treatment Action Group

Treatment Action Group is an independent AIDS research and policy think tank fighting for better treatment, a vaccine, and a cure for AIDS. TAG works to ensure that all people with HIV receive lifesaving treatment, care, and information. Denver HIV Resources Planning Council

The Council sets priorities for the services most needed in the Denver Transitional Grant Area (TGA), decides how much Part A (Title I) money should be used for each of these services (resource allocation), and develops a plan to provide these services (comprehensive plan). These decisions are based on an evaluation of the needs of people living with HIV (needs assessment). The Council also evaluates the administrative efficiency of the allocation of funds.

The Empowerment Program

The Empowerment Program provides education, employment assistance, health, housing referrals and support services to women who are in disadvantaged positions due to incarceration, poverty, homelessness, HIV/AIDS infection or involvement in the criminal justice system. Our goal is to decrease rates of recidivism by providing care management, support services, basic skills education, housing and resource coordination that can offer viable alternatives to habits and choices that may lead to criminal behaviors.

Project Angel Heart

Dedicated members of the Denver community founded Project Angel Heart in 1991. They were determined to ensure that those living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses were receiving proper nutrition -- vital in the fight against disease. Project Angel Heart initially served 12 clients from a single, donated pan of lasagna. In 2008, Project Angel Heart delivered over 407,279 meals to 1,687 clients, free of charge. During eighteen years of phenomenal growth, our goal has always remained the same: ‘meals with love’ for men, women, and children living with life-threatening illness.

Benefits In Action

Benefits in Action is a nonprofit organization located in Lakewood, Colorado that serves individuals throughout the state. We strive to increase understanding, access, and utilization of healthcare resources. Our team of navigators works with individuals to help them recognize the health-related benefits they qualify for, apply to those benefits, and utilize them as effectively as possible. We are passionate about the importance of increasing healthcare benefit literacy among the public. Accordingly, we organize and hold educational sessions in public facilities aimed at increasing individual understanding and self-efficacy in navigating the healthcare system.
